Mr. Feng’s driving routine is unusually intense, averaging around 600 kilometers per day—far beyond typical private vehicle use. Despite this heavy load, Xiaomi technicians confirmed that the 94.3 kWh battery pack has lost only about 5.5 percent of its capacity, even after an estimated 500 full charge cycles. This performance stands out in an industry where high mileage is usually associated with faster battery wear.

The case has gained massive attention on Chinese social media, prompting Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun to share the story publicly, reinforcing confidence in Xiaomi’s EV technology. Beyond durability, the test highlights the economic benefits of EV ownership, with Feng reporting fuel savings of over 100,000 yuan compared to a petrol car. While one vehicle does not represent an entire fleet, the results provide strong real-world evidence of long-term reliability, especially as Xiaomi transitions to a refreshed SU7 model.
