Indigenous EV Manufacturer Enters Market, Targets Electric Bikes, Cars and Buses
A new Made-in-Pakistan electric vehicle (EV) company formally entered the market on Saturday, signaling a significant step toward sustainable and locally manufactured mobility solutions. The company was inaugurated by Provincial Minister for Energy and Sports Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar, along with MNA Malik Saiful Malook Khokhar, at a ceremony held at the SBP e-Library in the Nishtar Park Sports Complex.
The indigenous EV manufacturer will produce electric bikes, electric cars, and electric buses, integrating electric and solar-powered technologies. By focusing on local production, the initiative aims to reduce Pakistan’s dependence on imported fuel, lower emissions, and offer affordable, environmentally friendly transport alternatives. The launch is expected to strengthen the country’s electric mobility ecosystem and accelerate adoption of clean transport solutions nationwide.
Speaking at the event, Minister Faisal Ayub Khokhar described the project as a strategic response to Pakistan’s energy challenges and environmental concerns. He said the initiative aligns with national objectives for green energy and sustainable development, adding that a provincial youth expo is also planned to promote innovation, technical skills, and entrepreneurship among young people.
MNA Malik Saiful Malook Khokhar said the new EV venture would create employment opportunities for local youth and support industrial growth. He emphasized that backing homegrown EV projects is essential for building a cleaner, more self-reliant transport sector in Pakistan.
