Air Link Diversifies into EV Manufacturing with AirV Electric Bike Project
Air Link Communication Limited has announced its entry into Pakistan’s electric vehicle market by launching an electric bike manufacturing project under its new brand, AirV. The project, approved by the company’s Board of Directors, will be developed at its manufacturing facility in the Sundar Green Special Economic Zone in Lahore as part of its strategy to expand beyond smartphones and consumer electronics.
The company said the new venture is aimed at meeting the growing demand for electric mobility in Pakistan. Management has been authorized to complete all regulatory, commercial, and operational requirements for the project, although details regarding investment, production capacity, and the launch timeline have not yet been disclosed. Following the announcement, Air Link’s shares rose 2.10% on the Pakistan Stock Exchange.
The electric bike initiative builds on Air Link’s broader manufacturing expansion, which includes an advanced production facility designed to manufacture smartphones, laptops, televisions, and other electronics for domestic and export markets. The company has also incorporated a 1-megawatt solar power system into the facility to support sustainable manufacturing and reduce energy costs.
