Govt Sets Clear Limits on Official Cars to Ensure Transparency and Efficiency
A new policy will be implemented across all departments and field formations in Punjab to regulate the allocation and use of official vehicles. Under the policy, vehicle deployment will be rationalized, and clear limits have been set for officials based on their entitlement levels.
The initiative aims to ensure efficient use of government resources and reduce unnecessary expenditures. The Services and General Administration Department (S&GAD) will oversee vehicle allocation and usage, while revised limits for fuel consumption, vehicle pools, and electricity usage have also been approved to keep costs under control.

Authorities have additionally decided to standardize transport arrangements for protocol duties and introduce a new framework for providing vehicles to VVIPs and foreign delegations. Officials say the policy will promote transparency, uniformity, and cost-effective management of government vehicles, with a standardized system applied across all administrative departments.
