2025 Tank 300 Hi4-T Gets CATL Battery, Faster Charging
Great Wall Motor (GWM) has announced updated specifications for its 2025 Tank 300 Hi4-T plug-in hybrid SUV, while keeping the price unchanged at 249,800 yuan (around 35,350 USD), according to D-Auto.
The key technical upgrade lies in the three-electric system. The PHEV drivetrain pairs a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine producing 252 hp and 380 N·m of torque with a front-mounted electric motor. The motor’s output has been raised from 120 kW to 130 kW, with peak torque climbing to 495 N·m, delivering a combined system power of 310 kW.

A new 36.7 kWh lithium-ion battery supplied by CATL enables a WLTC-standard pure-electric range of 105 km. DC fast charging from 30 to 80 percent now takes just 0.27 hours, down from 0.4 hours, while AC charging remains at 6.5 hours. The powertrain continues to feature a 9-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive.
Styling remains faithful to the rugged Tank 300 design, with boxy SUV proportions, smoked circular headlights, roof rails, dual-colour wheels, and a side-opening tailgate carrying a full-size spare. Inside, the model offers a 14.6-inch central touchscreen, 12.3-inch LCD instrument cluster, dual wireless charging pads, and off-road controls including the Tank Turn assist. Comfort and safety features include L2 driver assistance, auto LED headlights, heated front seats, a sunroof, and a 360-degree camera system.
Between January and October 2025, the Tank 300 Hi4-T recorded domestic sales of 24,254 units, contributing to the broader Tank 300 lineup that now spans petrol, diesel, and plug-in hybrid versions.
