Jensen Huang Backs Hyundai’s $5.9 Billion ‘AI Valley’ Vision in South Korea
NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang visited Hyundai’s headquarters in Seoul this week to strengthen the companies’ partnership in artificial intelligence and robotics. The expanded collaboration will focus on the Atlas humanoid robot developed by Boston Dynamics, with the goal of deploying robots on factory floors at industrial scale.
During talks with Hyundai Executive Chair Chung Euisun, both sides outlined plans to advance robotics, manufacturing, and mobility technologies. Hyundai aims to begin mass production of Atlas by 2028, targeting up to 30,000 units annually, while NVIDIA’s AI platforms will support robot training and deployment.
The discussions also highlighted Hyundai’s 9 trillion won ($5.9 billion) project in Saemangeum, which includes an AI data center, robot manufacturing cluster, and hydrogen plant. Following the announcement, Hyundai Motor shares rose nearly 7%, while NVIDIA gained more than 6%, reflecting investor optimism about the partnership.
