Punjab Extends Driving License Center Hours Amid Crackdown on Unlicensed Drivers
In early November, the Punjab government announced a province-wide crackdown on traffic violations, warning that FIRs would be registered against motorists driving without a valid license. To support citizens and reduce inconvenience, the government has extended the operating hours of driving license test centers across Punjab.
Under the revised schedule, licensing centers in major cities including Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Multan will now operate round the clock, 24 hours a day. Previously, these centers functioned from 8:00 AM to 11:30 PM. In smaller cities, operating hours have also been extended, with centers now remaining open from 8:00 AM until 12:00 midnight.
Meanwhile, Punjab Traffic Police has reiterated that citizens can apply for a learner’s permit online through the Driving License Issuance Management System (DLIMS) website. After successfully passing the driving test, applicants receive an e-license instantly, which can also be downloaded directly from the DLIMS portal.
